Nearly all the boats have arrived in Den Helder today after a short trip from Derry Londonderry, through the Pentland Firth and across the North Sea. As of 13:00 UTC today four yachts had still to finish. Visit Seattle came in first with PSP Logistics second and Da-Nang Vietnam third. Unicef was placed eighth. Tomorrow I will be in Den Helder seeing my team again.
There is not much sailing going on this week. The crews are on their last legs of the race and also physically after several parties in Derry Londonderry. The welcome has been overwhelming as the citizens of Derry Londonderry showed a great interest in this ocean crossing lot of sailors.
All the teams have arrived in Derry LondonDerry. Unicef finished in a respectable fifth place after some problems with their spinnaker halyards. IchorCoal accepted last place but managed to pickup the three points for the Scoring Gate which the other teams had left aside.
The final ocean crossing is nearly complete as the fleet turned the corner of the Ice-box this week and are heading fast north to Derry-Londonderry. Many of the Round the World crew will be wondering how this year has gone so quick now that there is only one month left of their 11 month round the world journey.
